When the sun set, the freeski superpipe finals began, what can I say? Astonishing! The 16 year old Torin Yater-Wallace won his first gold medal at the X Games with a double cork qw, a giant 1080, 900, 1080 to switch 9. To top off the male podium were Thomas Krief and David Wise. The female category defended its standard with a well-deserved podium! Roz Groenewoud occupied the highest step, followed by Devin Logan and Anais Caradeux.

The audience literally occupied every spot available around the pipe. The third edition of the X Games left us with a smile and a even a sun tan. Henry and Doom are editing a super episode of Jackson’s Hole. Stay tuned and don’t miss the next posts! After having put our Wrangler to the test, the time came to return to base. Unfortuntaley we have to park it, although we’d like to run away with it without leaving a trace.

Shaun White won which was amazing to see, the only thing which I thought was strange was Staale Sanbech only scoring 86 points with an almost perfect run. Oh well, I’m not a judge!
Then it was on to the ladies. No surprises in seeing the most dominant female slopestyle rider ever Jamie Anderson take the gold, she is amazing! It was also great to see one of Jackson’s Hole’s favorite ladies Spencer O’Brien get second. She even took us out for dinner later to celebrate.
The Ladies contest was incredibe, I have never seen the girls push it so much! Respect ladies!
Well the day ended in glorious sunshine, with our sunburnt faces (have to remember sunscreen next time!) smiling all the way to bed. We heard the Trevor Andrew concert went off but as we had a few too many glasses of red wine with Spencer O’Brien and we had to get up to (Unfortunately, we want to keep it!) deliver the great Wrangler home, we missed it.

It was a great time at the X Games and we’d like to thank Jeep for making it happen, enjoy the photos and keep your eyes peeled for the next episode of Jackson’s Hole! (We kidnapped Jamie Nicholls for some last minute filming on the way home too!) Thanks everyone, it’s been extreme!

Later on we checked out the slopestyle qualis, unfortunateley some of our favorite riders didn’t make it, however we were stoked to see young UK rider Jamie Nicholls make it through. We were especially stoked as we had scheduled an interview with our man Nicholls back at the Jeep track.

So we arrived at the Jeep track for round 2 of the day, complete with hotdog and banana suit. Bernard our epic Jeep driver succeeded in scaring both Jamie and I as he showed us the Jeep’s potential round the course. Thanks Bernard.
Then it was off to chill at the Nike house, by chilling i mean try and teach our favorite filmer Doom some back and frontflips. It didn’t go so well for him! Luckily our extreme banana was there to show him how to do it! Get ready for the show to check out the full carnage.
The sun started to go down after a long flipping session so we loaded up and headed home for a quick chill before heading to the pipe finals, some might say the main event! I’m not going to ruin the result so you’ll have to find that out yourself, but it was SICK!!!

On arrival in Turin we found the most helpful taxi driver in the world who took great pleasure in showing his friends that he could in fact fit 4 snowboarders, with all their equipment and filming/camera gear in his wee taxi!
He also told us that there should be more snowboarding on Italian TV and his favorite thing that he ever saw was Turin’s Big Air in 2004, which Brit Danny Wheeler won, he even remembered that!
We then picked up our amazing Jeep Wrangler Arctic edition from the lovely people at Fiat, quickly packed all our gear in (no problem for the Wrangler!) and set off towards Tignes and the X Games!
I didnʼt drive so I couldnʼt tell you how it was but let’s just say that Fenky was stoked the whole way, carving up the mountain road like a knife through butter, definitley didnʼt feel like we were in an all terrain vehicle! Amazing.

We arrived late in the night at our apartment, and headed to bed.
The next morning we awoke to perfect skies, sun shine and the best riders in the world. Fresh baguettes and croissants consumed and it was time to head out in the Jeep to test some more capabilities, dress up like idiots, and start filming for Jackson’s Hole.

After a successful day filming we went to check out the womenʼs pipe finals! The girls killed it, no surprises that Kelly Clark won, but Querallt and the other girls certainly made her earn it. Next it was on to mens qualis, some ginger bloke in leather was riding pretty good, and we got some great shots for the show! After a smooth ride home and some pizza it was time to hit the hay in preparation for off road Jeep test track madness in the AM! Wooohoo!

Back to the event: the female pipe finals were last night, and as usual, Kelly Clark did an amazing job and won the gold metal. I lost count of how many she’s won so far!
